| What
is Pashmina? |
|
Pashmina is the softest,
the lightest and the most
luxurious wool Mother
Nature has given us. It
comes exclusively from
goats found high in the
Himalayas known as the
“Capra Hircus”
and known locally as the
“Chyangra.”
These goats live between
3,000 and 4,000 meters
high. The precious fiber
is hand gathered and hand-woven
by skilled Nepali craftsmen
in to wonderful shawls,
scarves, sweaters, gloves,
hats, etc. Lighter and
of higher quality than
Cashmere, Pashmina wool
is legendary among the
Royal families of the
world.

Each Pashmina product
is gloriously hand spun
and woven in our workshop
on traditional hand looms
by the skilled hands of
our local craftsmen. The
finest fur is used, as
is the most exquisite
silk to weave together
these superb and magnificent
shawls, which are then
hand died to the colour
and design specifications
of our clients choosing.
Occasionally, a very slight
variation in texture,
size and colour might
be observed due to the
nature of handmade products.
